Before you call

## How to Reach Us and What Happens Next
Most people reach us at an awkward moment: the heating has stopped on a cold morning, a tenancy starts next week and the gas paperwork is missing, or a boiler that has limped through two winters has finally given up. Whichever it is, the quickest route to an answer is a phone call on 07523 738285 during our opening hours of Mon–Sun, 8:30am–5:30pm, because a two-minute conversation usually tells us more than a form ever will.

If it is not urgent, send the details through the form on this page instead and we will come back with a fixed price in writing. Nothing you agree with us changes later without your say-so, and if something genuinely unexpected turns up behind a boiler casing we stop, explain it and agree the change with you before carrying on.

### What happens after you get in touch
The first thing we do is work out whether you need an engineer today or a proper survey. A boiler in lockout showing a fault code, a leak, a smell of gas or no hot water at all is a same-day conversation. A new boiler, a full central heating installation or a set of radiators is a survey conversation, because the price depends on the property rather than on a price list.

For a new boiler we look at the number of bathrooms, the radiator count, where the flue can safely terminate, the condition of the existing pipework, the gas supply and, for a combi, the measured incoming mains flow rate. That is the only way to size an appliance honestly. An oversized boiler short-cycles and burns gas needlessly for a decade, and an undersized one leaves you with a shower that disappoints, so we measure rather than guess.

You then get the figure in writing, along with what is included: the appliance, the flue, the fittings, the system cleanse where it is needed, the controls, the removal and disposal of the old unit, the commissioning, the warranty registration and the FREE Gas Safety Certificate that comes with every new boiler installation. Boilers start at £1,299 fully fitted and immediate installation is available when the heating is already off.

### The fastest way to get a useful answer from us
If you can, have four things to hand when you ring: the make of the boiler, the model name printed on the front or inside the casing door, any fault code on the display, and the postcode of the property. With those we can usually tell you on the phone whether it sounds like a repairable fault, a part we routinely carry, or a boiler that is genuinely at the end of its life.

For a landlord gas safety certificate, tell us the number of gas appliances at the property and whether the tenant is in. For a gas cooker or hob, tell us whether there is already a gas point and bayonet fitting or whether a new supply needs running. For radiators, a room count and a rough idea of which rooms never get warm is enough to start.

Photographs help more than people expect. A picture of the boiler, the pipework underneath it and the airing cupboard tells us in seconds what a long description struggles to explain, and often it is the difference between one visit and two.

### Response times, opening hours and honest expectations
We are open seven days a week, 8:30am to 5:30pm, and that includes Saturdays and Sundays, which matters when a tenancy changes hands at the weekend or a boiler fails on a Sunday morning. We do not advertise a 24-hour service, because we would rather tell you the truth about when an engineer can realistically be with you than take a booking we cannot honour.

Breakdown work is prioritised over routine work, so a household with no heating or hot water comes before a booked service. In the coldest weeks of the year demand rises sharply across Merseyside, so if you have been putting off a service since the summer, booking it before the first cold snap is genuinely the cheapest thing you can do.

Where a repair needs a part we do not carry on the van, we tell you the part, the price and the likely wait rather than leaving you guessing. If a boiler is beyond economical repair we show you why, and we will happily quote a replacement, but we will not condemn a repairable appliance to sell you a new one.

### Access, parking and what to have ready
Installations go far more smoothly when the engineer can get to the work. Clear the cupboard the boiler sits in, move anything breakable away from the wall, and make sure there is a route from the front door to the boiler position. If a cylinder and loft tank are being removed as part of a conversion, clearing the loft hatch area saves a surprising amount of time.

Parking is worth a thought on the terraced streets of Bootle, Wavertree, Widnes and central St Helens, and around the permit areas near Liverpool city centre. If loading is difficult outside your house, tell us when you book and we will plan for it. On the wider estates in Kirkby, Halewood, Huyton and Runcorn access is rarely an issue.

Someone over eighteen needs to be at the property while gas work is carried out, and we will need the electricity and water on. If the property is empty between tenancies, arrange for us to collect keys or for the agent to meet us, and tell us in advance if the gas has been capped.

### Landlords, letting agents and managed portfolios
A large share of our work is landlord gas safety certification across Liverpool, Knowsley, Prescot, Halton and St Helens. We work to tenant-friendly appointment slots, keep the visit brief and tidy, and send the paperwork through digitally to both the landlord and the managing agent, the same day wherever possible.

If you hold several properties, group them geographically and we will schedule them together, which keeps the visits efficient and the certificates arriving on predictable dates. We can also flag appliances that are close to failing an inspection next year, so budgeting for a replacement is a planned decision rather than an emergency.

Where an inspection identifies something unsafe, we explain what has been done, why, and what needs to happen before the appliance can be used again. Everything is recorded properly, because the certificate is only worth having if the work behind it was done to the standard the paperwork implies.

## Frequently Asked Questions
What is the quickest way to reach a Gas Safe engineer?Ring 07523 738285 during our hours of Mon–Sun, 8:30am–5:30pm. Our second line is 0151 384 5908. If the heating is off, a call gets you an answer far faster than a form.

Do you charge for a quotation? No. We survey the property, explain what the work involves and give you a fixed price in writing before anything begins. Boilers are fully fitted from £1,299.

How soon can a new boiler be installed?Immediate installation is available, and most straightforward replacements are completed in a single day. Conversions from a tank-fed system to a combi usually take longer, and we tell you the expected timescale before you commit.

Which areas do you cover from Tarbock Green?Liverpool, Knowsley, Prescot, Halton and St Helens, plus the wider Merseyside towns including Huyton, Kirkby, Halewood, Whiston, Rainhill, Widnes, Runcorn, Woolton, Crosby, Bootle and Birkenhead.

Do you work weekends?Yes, seven days a week within our published hours. We do not offer overnight cover, and we would rather say so plainly than promise something we cannot deliver.

Can you send the certificate straight to my letting agent?Yes. Landlord gas safety paperwork is emailed to both landlord and agent, the same day wherever possible.
